POS systems

The right POS is the one built for how you sell.

We work with several POS systems for restaurants, bars, retail, convenience, and grocery. Tell us how you sell, and we'll narrow it to the two or three that fit, then put every cost in writing.

  • A short list of two or three on a 15-minute call, then live demos of the ones you like
  • Systems for full service, quick service, bars, retail, and grocery
  • Hardware, software, processing, and any term in writing before you sign

By business type

Start with your business, not a brand.

A bar, a grocery store, and a food truck need different things from a POS. Here is what we look for in each.

Restaurants and bars

Tables, tabs, modifiers, kitchen screens, pay at the table, and online ordering.

For restaurants and bars

Quick service and food trucks

Counter, kiosk, and online orders in one line, on hardware compact enough for a truck.

Retail and boutiques

Inventory, barcode scanning, gift cards, and customer records, at the counter and online.

For retail and convenience

Convenience, liquor, and grocery

Fast scanning, age checks, scales, and multiple lanes, with EBT on the systems that support it.

Gyms and membership businesses

Front-desk sales on the same system as memberships, classes, and check-in.

For gyms and studios

Auto repair and service shops

Estimates and invoices with dual pricing built in, and payment links by text.

For auto repair shops

Before you sign

Four questions to ask about any POS.

Ask them of us, and of anyone else you're talking to. The answers decide what the system really costs.

Can I leave?

Ask for the term and any cancellation fee in writing. Some systems are month to month; some run for years.

Whose processing does it need?

Some POS systems only work with their own card processing. That decides what you pay on every sale.

What if the internet drops?

Some systems keep taking orders, and some eligible card payments, while offline. Ask what works, the limits, and who absorbs a declined payment.

Do I own the hardware?

Ask whether you're buying, renting, or leasing it, and what it costs over the full term.

How we narrow it down

Two or three that fit, compared side by side.

Four things decide most of it: how you take orders, what you sell, how many stations and locations you run, and whether you want to offer a cash price. Then we compare the systems that fit on cost, term, and what each one actually does.

Happy with your POS? Tell us which one you have. Some can run on our processing and some can't, and we'll tell you which, in writing, before you change anything.

In writing, before you sign

  • The hardware, and whether you buy it, rent it, or lease it
  • The monthly software cost
  • Your card processing pricing, line by line
  • Any term or cancellation fee

Ask about anything that isn't listed. Better now than on your first statement.

How it works

Fifteen minutes to a short list.

Step 1

A 15-minute walkthrough

Tell us how you sell. We narrow it to the systems that fit, and can set up live demos of them.

Step 2

Everything in writing

Hardware, software, processing, and any term or cancellation fee, before you sign.

Step 3

Set up with you

We coordinate the install with you and the POS team, so you know who does what before day one.

Step 4

One rep who answers

You get a direct number. When something comes up, you call a person who already knows your account.

FAQ

Questions about POS systems.

Which POS is best?
The one that fits how you sell. We start with your business, narrow it to two or three, and show you the differences in cost, term, and features before you choose.
Can I keep my current POS?
Sometimes. Some POS systems only run on their own processing, and some can run on ours. Tell us which one you have and we'll tell you in writing.
Can a POS show a cash price and a card price?
Several of the systems we carry have dual pricing built in. Whether you can use it depends on your state's rules, and we check before setup. Our state-by-state guide shows what each state says.
Is there a contract?
It depends on the system. Some are month to month and some have multi-year terms. Before you sign, you'll see the term and any cancellation fee in writing.
Why don't you name the systems?
Because the right one depends on your business, and a list of brand names doesn't tell you that. On the walkthrough we name the two or three that fit you, and why.
